Mother Nature's Mistake By Sadie Mother Nature spilt her milk last night before she went to bed I’ve never known milk to be so cold and white It stripped the trees of all their clothes and left them quite exposed Mother Nature spilt her milk and now I’m stuck inside Mother Nature cried last night when her milk spilt on the grass Now her tears are frozen on the bushes, roofs and glass Mother Nature's birthday was obviously last night Or else she wouldn’t of put frosting on the houses woods and bikes I hope Miss Nature will clean up her big mess ‘Cuz I want to go out to play in the green grass and sunlight Winter, Winter Winter, winter, why so glum. The early sunsets aren't so fun. Your ice makes me slip and fall. I just want summer after all. The glistening snow can look nice. Though, let's move it along, if you want my advice. Groundhog says winter leaves soon, I can't wait for warmer days and things to bloom. Written by Emma Seward. SNOW DAY By: Mirabelle Waking up to a world of white is something I delight in doing. Out of bed I jump, in goes breakfast then it’s out to the snow for me. The evergreens coated in dust, the ground covered in a thick, white crust. The sun dancing across the snow. Bird tracks, deer tracks specked around the yard. If you're quiet you may hear a Woodpecker, a Chickadee or maybe discover a brand new bird. The world’s so quiet when it snows and I can see smoke as it grows out of, out of, Out of the chimney. Snow is wet and cold but when coats the ground in powder I know that there will be a delight in waking up to a world of white. -My Mitten- The air is crisp my feet are cold, I’m going to be outside till im gray and old Snowmen and snowwomen tied up with gold ribbon Will soon come alive when wearing my mitten The ground sparkles white and the treetops all glistien But I still wonder about my left handed mitten I search high and low through all the snow Then a great gust of wind blows all that darn snow And I see in the wind a bright colored left handed mitten ~Harmony Winter Poem Remember summer when Everything was green, And birds were chirping, But now everything's different, Because now everything is whitening, There's icicles hanging from every tree, But there is no more riding bicycles, And now that everything is covered in white, All the geese won't take fight for the night. Written by Mya Winter poem The snow piles up yet it's not so cold, I walked down to the river and step on, I slide and... pow, The leaves are hidden under the snow,My head back as the wind blows, Yuck, yuck, yuck, my socks are wet, I headed back as the wind blows, How much do you want to bet, I don't think there will be school because of the snow trickling down from the sky . -By Caroline Becker My snow day By: Ember Raifstanger Outside today it is very cold, It's another snow day oh this is getting old, I have to do my blizzard bag, So I reached down and try not to lag, When I do I peak out the window, I really think we should of had school although, I start to do math to read and to write, Oh look a sandwich I want a bite, The papers on my desk cover it like a blanket with numbers, SNAP goes one of my favorite cucumbers. Snow day By Stella Baden Snowing now, snowing now, Snowing all day long, Snow flies like a bird, Coating the land in crystals, Woosh, woosh, woosh Smush, smush, smush, Stomping in the snow, Sun shines on my frosty pain, Gleaming, shining, frozen rain. |
