Jazz
If you sink deep Into the heart of New Orleans Music drips down the window panes And lands across your lips You put them together and hum Sweet like honey With a kick of cyan A voice along with Ella’s Bold and beautiful Each sugar coated note sifts to powder And sweeps in the wind The proud and happy saxophone Creates its own dandelion yellow song The forest green of the drums Stick meets symbol And music erupts Welcome To the world of jazz What a wonderful world THE MUSICAL I don’t know if you can hear it, but I certainly can. The buzz on what the upcoming musical will be is everywhere. By the water fountains, the halls, the library, everywhere. Questions being asked like “What will follow James and the Giant Peach Jr?” and “Who will the new director be?” Well, soon all these questions will be answered because our music teacher Ms. Reiner has said that the new musical will be released soon. What do you think the musical will be?

Wow! November already. I can’t believe that we have already completed two months at Monument Valley. The 11th is National Sundae day and Veterans Day. The 13th is World Kindness Day and the 16th is National Fast Food Day. The 20th is National Peanut Butter Fudge Day and the 23rd is Thanksgiving! We will be having Wednesday, Thursday AND Friday off this year, giving us a five day break. Tell your parents because the 24th will be BLACK FRIDAY! Followed by National Cookie and National Cake day on the 26th, National French Toast day on the 28th. Ending off November we have National Package Protection day on the 29th and National Mason Jar day on the 30th. Happy Fall!
Halloween at Monument Valley was very fun. First, in science class we played Halloween bingo. If you win you get candy which is very nice of Mrs.Arnold. My classmate Sam says “The orchestra party was awesome, we played games and ate candy popsicles”. Another classmate says “I was a judge at lunch for costumes and lots of people had great costumes...they looked great. Some examples were a big butterfly, a clown, and the ninja turtle”. I was a vampire. Thanks to Mrs. Malone Smith, Senor Heath, and Mr. Pinkston for the photos. |
