A main reason why players are deciding to kneel is against police brutality. Donald Trump said in a speech following the peaceful protest that it was disrespecting the United States flag. Trump believes that any player that kneeled during the National Anthem should be fired.
I believe that the kneeling is a great way to express their opinions, and I agree with all the players who have done it, and even if they won’t read this I would like to thank them for standing up for their opinions.

With the growing fear of a North Korean nuclear missile, many people along the West Coast of the US (mostly California) are fearing a strike on their homes. On the East Coast, I personally think that, here in New England, we have nothing to worry about. North Korea’s latest threat (that I know of) is striking Guam by flying their missiles over Japan. Japan is somewhat prepared for a nuclear strike, as many schools have been having drills in case of a strike . (Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMqO3phbsY0) My biggest fear is a retaliation strike on Pyongyang, where so many innocent people will die. Another problem is fallout that could spread to China and South Korea. Fallout is particles in the air that are made radioactive via nuclear blast. Fallout can become harmful if the human body is exposed. (a 1959 film about fallout from the US government. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE-nji8-1Ko).
North Korea is a threat, but not a threat our government can not tackle. I think that our government could do something other than “...meet them with fire and fury…”, but instead try to work things out with North Korea, a top secret CIA assassination won’t happen anytime soon, but our government can definitely find a way to stop this crisis. I don’t tend to talk about this at school, or at home for that matter, but I do think about it, a lot. September Welcome back to Monument Valley and welcome to the 5th graders. The 2017 Student Council will hopefully great. I strongly encourage every one of you to participate in the elections to get your voice heard. And even if you don’t get elected, don’t worry, there will be plenty of opportunities to get your opinions out there. There will be 3 representatives for each grade and once the council is formed, they will vote to elect other roles. If it’s not too late already, get to writing your speech if you would like to run. Good luck to all who are planning on running. For those of you who have already read your speeches in your grades, “May the odds be ever in your favor!”
At the beginning of every school year, a group of students have to deal with the transition between sixth and seventh grade. This year it just so happened to be me and my friends. Contrary to what you might think, sixth and seventh grade is not just separated by a floor. When you walk up the stairwell to second floor, a lot of things change. The teachers treat us more like a high school student, the homework loads becomes heavy, the schedule changes, and so much more. It may only be the third week of school but I can already tell the difference between the two grades, and the pros and cons of each. In the seventh grade a pro is you might notice is the independence level. Upstairs you are expected to be responsible and solve problems on your own. Whereas in the sixth grade the teachers will be there with you every step of the way. So far my favorite thing is taking a language.
