Greetings Monument Valley. We have decided to hold a school walkout to protest climate change. On December 13 all middle schoolers who would like to participate will leave their classrooms and exit the building. There will be posters, chanting, and powerful speeches demanding action towards climate change. After the walk out we can promise you we will not stop there, we are going to ban the fruit20 bottles, start a more-than-just-paper recycling bin, and start composting leftover fruits and veggies. We have already held one meeting for students who would like to help organize the event. We will be holding another meeting for 7th and 8th graders on Tuesday November 19th during lunch and recess time. And on Wednesday November 20th there will be another meeting for 5th and 6th graders during their lunch and recess time. In these meetings we want to find student leaders who are willing to write speeches, make posters, and help with anything else to make this walkout powerful. If you are interested in helping there will be more information at the meeting. We need to let the rest of the world know that us kids want action and we want it NOW!!! Our earth is changing, and not for the better, greenhouse gasses are blanketing our atmosphere, animals and people are losing their homes, the oceans are rising, and it is our generation’s job to fix it. So please join us in taking a stand for what’s right, because we know what we want, CLIMATE JUSTICE!! Why you Should Do Project Connection
By Ava As it says in the title, this is an article on why you should do Project Connection(PC). For those of you who don’t know, PC is a program that takes place after school. If you are going to do it, you will get(or ask for) a packet for it. There is a section for each day of the week except Friday, and the programs taking place on that day, which you get to choose. One reason why you should do PC is because if your parents work late, they can pick you up from the school or bus stop much earlier. That way they you don’t have to walk home by yourself, or take an awkward car ride with a kid you barely know. Once that happened to me, and while the kid I rode with was perfectly nice, I still didn’t know him/her and I didn’t like riding with them. Another reason why I think you should do PC is because it’s fun. I mean, there’s a few programs I really didn’t care for, but it has more good than bad. For example, one of the programs I’m currently doing is Survive, which is really fun. We play games in the field and forest and learn to make fire and stuff. And I’m also doing Cultural Kitchen, where we cook stuff from all around the world. In closing, I think you should do Project Connection because it’s great for if your parents work late, and it’s fun. I hope you do it!

Great job, Stella!!! Don’t stop trying to change the world! Remember:” if you think you’re too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito” 😉
