With the holidays near it will bring up all kinds of emotions like sadness, happiness or anxiety- basically any emotion you can imagine. Some people are very lucky and get to have a big dinner and presents while others aren’t as lucky. We should do all we can to make someone who might be having a bad day feel better, or even do it just for fun. Write a note anonymously and slip it in a random locker or tell an adult in the building how you appreciate all they do to make the school a better place. This year take a moment to appreciate all you have and how you can do all these things. Even going to school (which may not seem like you are lucky to do that) is a chance that others don't have. Another thing is a house to live in. Did you know there are about 1,238 chronically homeless people in Massachusetts alone?* These are only a couple of reasons why we should be thankful for all of the opportunities we have, because there are people all over the world who don’t. So be thankful. (*Editor’s note: Estimates are that 25% of homeless individuals are children) Berkshire Autumn day
