Any one that knows me knows I like music. In the beginning of the pandemic, I had to go to Chatham, NY because my parent’s business was deemed essential. I had an hour drive there and back, and we would listen to old bands in the car the whole time, and I discovered many cool bands. I liked the 80’s bands the best, and I wanted to share some bands that I had discovered on those trips. Duran Duran was a band created in 1978, consisting of Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Roger Taylor, Andy Taylor, and Nick Rhodes. I like the sound of their music. I recommend the songs “Hungry like the Wolf”, “Rio”, and “Save a Prayer”. Depeche Mode was a band formed in 1980, and the original members were Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andrew Fletcher, and Vince Clark, but Vince left and was replaced by Alan Wilder. I like how Depeche Mode sings about things in the happening in the world. I think you will like their songs “Shake the Disease”, “Enjoy the Silence”, and “People are People”. Finally, Electric Light Orchestra, or ELO was a band formed in 1970 by Jeff Lynne, Richard Tandy, and Bev Bevan. They helped make the soundtrack for the 1980 movie Xanadu. I like their groove, and the combination of falsettos and base voices. I recommend their songs “Don’t Bring Me Down”, “All Over The World”, and “The Fall”, which they did for Xanadu. I hope you try out some of their songs.
