For some kids, remote learning is great. For others, not so much.
Some kids like hybrid classes over the full remote. Kids like the hybrid more than the full remote because they get to see at least some people in person. The remote learning made it so that you would only see people on your screen in little tiny boxes, but with hybrid, you are actually getting to see some friends, and you get to meet the teachers. Also, for some people, they don’t have a great wifi signal, so they possibly can’t get on to classes on their computer. In school however, you don’t have to worry about your signal or being on time to classes because everything is controlled well in school for your safety. The school system does a deep clean on wednesdays, so many think it is nice and clean. One last thing is that you’re not staring at a screen 24/7, but you get a break from screens when in school. Other kids and parents think that full remote learning is better. Kids and parents may think that it is safer to be at home than in school with other kids. At home, you wouldn’t be in contact with anybody other than your family, but in school there are many other people there, so there could be a higher risk of getting sick. The kids also may have a hard time in school, so it could be better for them to be with their parents. Kids also get more time at home and with their family with the full remote than the hybrid. It gives students more flexibility and time to have fun, as long as they get their work done. Personally, I could go with either of these choices because if you want, you can create a “pod” with a friend or two, so you can still see some people. I tried it and it works great! I like the hybrid because it allows me to meet the teachers and also gives a chance to make more friends, but in a safe way. In remote you stay safe behind a screen, but the school does a deep clean so that you don’t have to squint at a small box to see someone, and so you can meet more people. In all, Hybrid learning and Remote Learning both have their pros and cons, and both work well. Stay safe!
